Sealing & Cleaning

The technology of sealing and cleaning manufactured and natural hardscapng surfaces has evolved dramatically over the past few years.

Sealers are used for finishing an outdoor surface.  Each product has unique characteristics in terms of what type of material it will seal, the durability of the seal, the effect of the sealing process on the look of the surface, and how much surface can be covered per gallon.  Sealing can be for protection, to change the appearance, or both.  Sealers also have different environmental characteristics.  Visit our blog for more information on the sealing process.

Cleaning your hardscaping surface usually occurs when something unplanned has happened.  Specialized cleaners exist for oil, grease, paint, rubber, and tar as well as just basic dirt.    Visit our blog for more information about event-driven cleaning such as spring clean-up.

Cleaning may also take place immediately after installation to remove efflorescence. Efflorescence is a natural result of the manufacturing process for concrete pavers. A white film may form on portions of the surface as part of the curing process. It will wear off over time, sometimes as much as a year. If impatient, the film may be cleaned off with efflorescence cleaner. When using cleaners, it is important to be aware of the intensity of the cleaning agent. When using strong cleaners, steps must be taken to protect vegetation around your project.

We carry two major brands of sealers and cleaners:  Alliance and Techni-Seal.  Both offer a wide range of alternatives..  We are always available to assist you in selecting the appropriate product to solve the problem or create the effect your are trying to achieve.
