About Willow Grove PA

A prominent town in eastern Montgomery County, Willow Grove is just north of the Philadelphia border, and is considered one of the city's suburban communities. Located in Upper Dublin Township, Willow Grove has urban and suburban elements that make it an excellent place to live, work and raise a family. Established in the mid 18th century, the town grew through the Revolutionary and Civil war to become a prominent community to the north of metropolitan Philadelphia. The area is best known as the former location of the Willow Grove Park amusement park, and the current location of the Willow Grove Park Mall, which is one of the area's primary centers of commerce and employment. The mall opened on the fairgrounds of the old park, and has been a staple of the community for several decades. As of the 2010 census, Willow Grove was home to nearly 16,000 individuals with a median household income of $62,163. It enjoyed a stint as the Music Capital of America at one point in the towns history, hosting a number of orchestras and bands at the old park fairgrounds throughout the year.
